TRP's 4 Ws and 1 H

Who:
- anyone who loves me (kidding!), i mean, anyone who believes in this project
- anyone who intends to give me gift for my birthday
- anyone who would want to share time, effort, and whatever
- anyone with a big heart!

What:
- the READ project: passing the passion of reading to the next generation
a not-an-ordinary treat to kids of a selected barangay

When:
- sometime in June  2011 (exact date and time will be posted when final)

Where:
- (to be posted when final)

How:
- the READ project aims to give a book to each kid who will be invited (note that these are underprivileged kids). thus, anyone who could give an old or new (doesn't matter as long as it is readable) children's book will be much appreciated.
- you can also spare your time and share a little effort on the day itself by being part of the TRP team. there will be a designation of tasks. at the moment, i am looking at having five (5) people to do "reading a book" session to the kids. the rest will probably be in-charge of the food and the rest of the program.
- cash is okay, but "in kind" will be much more appreciated. :)
- for inquiries, you may do so by posting a comment in here or emailing at thereadproject11@gmail.com.

ABOUT: the READ project

the READ project is a way of sharing God's gift. it intends to help both the kids and the people behind.

through the READ project, kids will be able to listen to different kinds of values-enriched book stories that will help awaken their imagination and fill them with learning.

meanwhile, it is also the READ project's aim to help young adults or the youth to share their God-given talent, as well as their time through reading a book to the kids and inspire them to do the same along the way.

the READ project believes that reading is a tool towards a child's growth emotionally, mentally and psychologically.

the READ project also believes that kids deserve to listen to wonderfully crafted children's books and stories. it is our desire that through doing this project, these kids will learn to love and hone their passion for reading.

the READ project believes that reading can do a lot in molding a kid. it won't only help in the kids' mental enhancement, but that it will also help in molding the kids' character.

the READ project believes that reading is a passion that can be passed on to generations. it is a passion that will help build a brighter and smarter nation.

the READ project was based on one's passion to read, and it is through that passion that this project is being pushed through.

the READ project believes that as long as someone is willing to help, all the kids of this generation and the generations to come will be able to share the same passion, and eventually create a nation that reads.

HISTORY: the dream (that is soon to be real)

this is a realization of a long-time dream.

when i was a kid, my dream of creating a change sprouted. i've always wanted to be part of something that is for the good of the many. i have always dreamed of one day, putting up a foundation that will help kids live their lives to the fullest (but putting up a foundation requires too much and needs a lot of time, effort and money).

when i was growing up, i tried to look for a group where i could start help make a change. unfortunately, i wasn't able to look for one. but the willingness did not end there. growing up, i have always these words instilled in my heart and in my mind, "you don't need to be rich to be able to make a change, and do something good to others."

with the graces of the Good Lord, the willingness to make a change and be different is now becoming a passion that lives in my heart and mind.

in the year 2010, i thought of doing a social work for my birthday. again, unfortunately, i wasn't able to do so. there were a couple of changes in my life that i forgot about the supposedly plan. but my hopes of doing something for other people less fortunate than i am never left.

at a recent conversation with a former colleague and friend, i told her about doing something for my birthday. i told her that i am planning to do a social work. surprisingly, she responded enthusiastically. she eventually gave me an idea on what, where, and how to do it. there i felt God is really pushing me to do it. then, i was scared of what others might say. i was scared of other people's reaction and opinion. but this time, i don't care anymore.

i do not dream of becoming a hero or a saint. but yes, i dream of becoming different from the rest. i want to be one of those who make a lot of difference in their lives.

i remember that one of my life's goals is to inspire other people. now, i can say that through this little idea, i will be able to realize that goal.

it is and it will never be too late to do something good for others.

this year, before my birthday, will be the birth of a project that is based from my interest, and is inspired by a childhood dream.

i intend to do it not just this year, but God's will, until He tells me to stop.

i still have more than three months before my birthday, and before the realization of this project. there's still a lot of things to do. a lot of things might happen along, but with God's help, i know this is going to happen. with God's grace, i believe it will happen.
